Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải made the statement in the Tuesday afternoon reception given to experts from the Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI), who are staying here for drafting the Việt Nam Competitiveness Report 2009-2010.

ACI’s report thoroughly mentions the current situation and capacity of the Vietnamese economy, providing analysis of macro and micro-economic competitiveness and proposing some policies on competitiveness.

The report also identifies priorities and solutions to sharpen competitiveness in keynote fields, such as FDI, export, and State-owned enterprises.

ACI pointed out that Việt Nam’s competitiveness depends on such elements as capacity, financial potential, technology and labor force.

At the meeting, Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải asked ACI to closely work with the Việt Nam Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) and the Việt Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to complete the report soon. The document can be used as a scientific foundation for Việt Nam to map out long-term economic development strategies, asserted Mr. Hải.
