A commission on labor issues to be founded

VNGOP – The PM made a decision on May 17 to establish the Commission on Labor Affairs (CLA) as the advisor for the PM about regimes, policies and solutions on healthy labor relations; as well as set up a mechanism for the collaboration among different agencies and sectors in preventing and dealing with labor disputes.

Accordingly, the CLA Chair will be the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs who are assisted by three deputies including a Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, a leader from the Vietnam Labor Confederation (VNLC) and a leader of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). Other members are the representatives from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, VNLC, VCCI, Vietnam Union of Cooperatives, and the Vietnam Small and Medium Enterprises' Association.

The CLA will give advices on orientations, regimes, policies on labor affairs; solutions to direct and regulate those policies; coordinate the performance among the relevant ministries, sectors, agencies and organizations in establishing healthy and transparent labor relations as well as provincial-level interdisciplinary organizations. Periodical reports will be made by the CLA to the PM on the actual implementation of the policies on labor affairs.
