A boost for higher Logistics Performance Index

The move also targets to implement Resolution 02/NQ-CP, dated January 1, 2019 on tasks and solutions to improve the business climate and enhance the national competitiveness in 2019, with an orientation towards 2021. 

The plan sets a goal to raise Viet Nam’s ranking in the WB’s LPI from five to ten steps by 2025. In 2018, Viet Nam ranked 39th. In addition, it also centers on making positive contributions to perfecting the business environment; cutting costs; bettering Viet Nam’s competitiveness in logistics service provision; and developing innovation. 

The plan sets specific tasks in line with six indexes including:

The first task aims to upgrade infrastructure especially upgrading and modernizing the North-South railway line; and others including Ha Noi-Hai Phong, Ha Noi-Thai Nguyen, Ha Noi-Lang Son, and Ha Noi-Ha Long. Tan Son Nhat international airport will be expanded.

The second task focuses on improving goods delivery capability. Accordingly, working time of port and customs offices will be arranged in reasonable manner in favor of fast custom clearance. Electronic Delivery Order will be deployed at ports, airports, and logistics centers. 

The rest of tasks will target to perfect logistic service quality; boost technological application and traceability capability; cut time and costs; and raise customs clearance efficiency./.
