243rd anniversary of Independence Day of U.S. celebrated

VGP – U.S. Ambassador to Viet Nam Daniel Kritenbrink on June 11 hosted a ceremony to celebrate the 243rd anniversary of the Independence Day of the U.S. in Ha Noi.

June 12, 2019 9:20 AM GMT+7

Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh and leaders of Vietnamese ministries, agencies and localities attended the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Anh asserted that Viet Nam considers the U.S. as one of its top partners, expecting to promote the U.S.-Viet Nam relations more intensively and effectively in the time ahead.

He expressed his delight on Viet Nam-U.S. Comprehensive Partnership in all fields, including President Trump’s visit to Viet Nam and attending the second U.S.-DPRK Summit.

Anh highly spoke of developments in education-training cooperation as Fulbright University has opened the first session, heading to become the high-quality training center in the region.

He welcomed the U.S. signing the Memorandums of Understandings on supporting handicapped people and dioxin treatment technology at Bien Hoa airbase in Dong Nai province.

In the context of the fourth industrial revolution, Anh hoped that the cooperation in research, science and technology transfer will be enhanced in the future.

These cooperative achievements have paved the way for the two nations to organize crucial events in their bilateral relationship by 2020, including the 25th anniversary of the normalization of Viet Nam-U.S. diplomatic ties.

As Viet Nam takes over the ASEAN 2020 Chairmanship and the non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in 2020-2021 phase in 2020, the two nations will have more opportunities to join hand in dealing with regional issues of common concerns for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
