15th anniversary of VN-RoK diplomatic tie celebrated in Seoul

VNGOP – On the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic tie between Việt Nam and the Republic of Korea (December 22, 1992-December 22, 2007), the Vietnamese Embassy to the RoK organized the Việt Nam-RoK Economic Forum on December 20 at Hotel Lotte Seoul, attracting 250 guests.

December 26, 2007 7:06 AM GMT+7

Addressing the Forum, Vietnamese Ambassador Phạm Tiến Vân highlighted the positive developments of the bilateral relationship over the past time, which have helped to bring the two countries to an important partnership in all fields. The RoK is now the biggest foreign investor, number-two donor, 6th partner and 3rd tourist market of Việt Nam.

Ambassador Vân asserted that the people-to-people exchange between the two countries, with around half million of RoK tourists to Việt Nam every year and tens of thousands of workers from each country working and residing in the another, together with historical, cultural and sentimental similarities, is always a solid foundation for the development of bilateral relationship. He went on to confirm that Việt Nam always attaches importance to the friendship and cooperation with the RoK.

First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Cho Jung-pyo also highly praised the rapid and comprehensive development of the relationship between the two countries for past 15 years. He affirmed the important position of Việt Nam in the RoK’s diplomatic policies and expressed his confidence in the promising future of the bilateral ties.
