14th NA opens 4th session

VGP – The 14th National Assembly opened its fourth session on October 23 in Ha Noi. The session will last 26 days and close on November 24.

The 14th National Assembly opened its fourth session on October 23 in Ha Noi

In the early morning of October 23, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Tran Dai Quang, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan laid a weath and paid tribute to Great President Ho Chi Minh. 

The National Assembly convened a preparatory session to discuss and approve the agenda for the session. 

As scheduled, after the opening speech of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Nga, PM Phuc would deliver a report on the implementation of socio-economic performance in 2017 and socio-economic development plan for 2018. 

President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man would present a report on voters' comments.

Head of the National Assembly's Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanh would deliver  a report assessing  the outcomes of the implementation of socio-economic development plan for 2017; and socio-economic development plan for 2018. 

Six bills, 12 resolutions subjected for approval

Earlier, at press conference on the threshold of the fourth session, NA Vice Secretary General and Vice Chairman of the NA Office Le Bo Linh said the NA would spend 15 days  discussing and deciding on several important issues of the country such as the government’s reports on socio-economic development in 2017 and 2018, State budget estimate and allocation for 2018, crime prevention and control, settlement of complaints and denunciations in 2017, and another three days on question-and-answer sessions.  

Legislators would also adopt six draft laws, 12 draft resolutions and give opinions on nine other bills, including the revised Law on Public Debt Management, the amended Law on Forest Protection and Development, the revised Law on Fisheries, the Law on Planning; resolutions on socio-economic development, State budget estimate and allocation for 2018, among others./.
