NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan announced that during two days of sitting, the NASC planned to comment on the preparation for the first session of the 14th National Assembly scheduled for July 20; the program on law and ordinance building in 2017 and adjustments to the 2016 law and ordinance building program; and the supervisory plan of the NA and the NASC in 2017.

In addition, the NASC would discuss a Government’s report on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and State budget in the first half and second half of 2016; and the apparatus of the Government in the 14th tenure.

The NASC would also look at the Government’s Decree on special mechanisms on investment, finance, budget, and management of central Da Nang city.

In the morning, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung presented a Government’s report on the implementation of the socio-economic development in the first half and measures in the rest of the year.

Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung delivered a report on the implementation of State budget in the first half and measures in the rest of the year.

A majority of delegates were unanimous with the two reports and praised specific actions in favor of voters’ benefits.

However, the economic growth rate was only 5.52%, lower than the NA’s preset target of 6.7% for 2016. To fulfill the goal, GDP would have to touch nearly 7.6% in the rest of the year, which is seemingly infeasible in the context of tightened monetary and fiscal policies./.
